Ferries
Ferries run between Clare Island and the mainland at Roonagh Pier near Louisburgh and Cloughmore Pier near Achill Sound. One ferry ticket (cost €35) covers both journeys for you and your bike but tickets are not transferable - you must travel with the same company on both ferry journeys. Ferries must be booked in advance.
Clare Island-Roonagh-Clare Island ferries run regularly every day (about every 75 minutes)
Ferries between Achill and Clare Island run in the summer months only.

Electric bikes can be brought on the ferries but the batteries may need to be removed before the bike goes onto the boat.
If you have a group doing the Clew Bay Bike Trail or would like to charter a ferry on a different day please contact the ferry companies for rates.
